Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Forest of Evil II and it’ll bring you to “The Path of the Glittering Crystal”. Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman’s dark side to obtain the Black Charm. Return to “Grendel the Really Old” and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Robeira. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Robeira in El Nath and give her the Necklace of Wisdom.

How to read this skill build? 16 – 18 means Level 16, 17 and 18 [Level 16 to 18]. For 20 – 20, it means only Level 20. The guide below is purely a personal recommendation and need not be followed. Each skill listed below has advices/tips shared by senior players to guide you in building your character!

Pearl of Knowledge:
Ice/Lightning Mage have not a freezing mob skill that can freeze multiple monster at once, an advance skill of Cold Beam. However, they have a ThunderSpear skill that only hits a single target. It seems that 2nd job single-target vs mob-target is the opposite in 3rd job! Ice/Lightning mage also have Composition skill that has both Ice and Lightning element! They have Seal that can disable monster from casting any magical spell/buff against mage.

Below is the hierarchy order of Pirate advancement: [Magician Main Page]
Pirate -> Gunslinger -> Vaklyrie (Outlaw) -> Captain (Corsair)
Pirate -> Infighter (Brawler) -> Buccaneer (Marauder) -> Viper (Buccaneer)

partial-resistancePartial Resistance
You get additional resistance from Ice & Lightning. A few MapleStory players disagree maxing Partial Resistance since there are very little monsters that does such attacks. Perhaps in a few more MapleStory patches, there would be more monsters that uses this kind of magic attacks.

Monsters with Ice-attacking skills: Phantom Watch / Grim Phantom Watch / Thanatos / Papulatus Clock
Monsters with Lighting-attacking skills: Tauromacis / Crimson balrog / Papulatus Clock / Zakum

element-amplification1Element Amplification
Use more MP, but Increase Magic Attack. This skill is maxed later once your primary attacking skill (Ice Strike mob skill) is max. It works passively, meaning that, any magic skill you cast (e.g. Magic Claw / Cold Beam / etc) it uses additional MP to boost its magic attack damage! Recommended to be max.

sealSeal
Seals up the enemies around you for a certain amount of time. Once sealed up, the monsters can’t use attacking skills, but the skill does not work on boss monsters. Great to prevent monsters to use their magical attacks against you (e.g. Mong Eerie Face / Shark Jaws / Werewolf Claw). This includes negative buff/effect (Seal, Dark, Weak, Stunned, Dispell, Slow) by Fierry, Shark, Thanatos and others. It also prevents monsters to activate their magical defenses (e.g. Dark Stone Gollem Power-Up Level 2, Physical Defense-Up Level 2.)

magic-booster1Magic Booster
Uses up a significant amount of HP and MP to increase the attacking speed for spells. Most MapleStory players would ask ” Why leave Spell Booster at Lv11 instead of Lv20?” Reason being, Lv11 has the same casting speed as Lv20 Speed +2, however Lv20 has longer duration.

    BitterBlaze :

I disagree with maxing comp, if you train properly you dont need comp at all, resistance and boost are what you should get, resistance so that when poisoned you arent taking nearly the same amount of damage, I think its 7hp for poison for me…. mist and explosion at grim phantom watches till lvl 84/86 and then skeles after that, you will lvl fast and wont need comp. You can get Fire Demon in 4th job to replace it anyways.

    Element Composition owns.

Well I’m level 111 and I’m maxing everything except for comp since that attack is not really necessary when you can use mob attacks like poison myst and explosion so you might as well max your defensive skills. But I suppose it’s where you train and that’s where you base your skills, but if your having difficulties leveling might as well attack a map with fast spawns and great mob. I prefer gallos (if you have the mesos to burn pots) or skeles. But I do like this alternative build =]

there build is right cause im a level 87 f/p and i started to train at skeles at level 76 but im also a pure int and pr is useless, why would you need it when most of the time you train at things that dont use fire or poison

But I got a question: Is there also a guide you’d suggest where I can put explosion first to attack?

errrrr, don’t want to be rude but the Partial Resistance skill are refered to the ice/lightning mage and not the fire/poison one, also the “seed of knowledge” have a explanation of that kind of mage, can you please check it out?
