Knight of Cygnus Striker Guide


Note: The information below is extracted from MapleStory SEA v0.80 (Latest of 21st September 2009). Having strength and the power,Thunder Breakers deal with the enemy up close.They are teamed up with the spirit of lightning. It can be summoned to fight,or to simply guard,and imbue itself into the knuckles and its owner.One may have the pleasure of power, but that power must not be used in the wrong way. Thus,a spirit of kindness must be mixed with bodily attacks,making a kind, willful Thunder Breaker. Intro to the Striker


Knight of Cygnus Pirate (Striker 1st Job Advancement) Skill Build. For Striker’s 1st Job Advancement, the least important skills are Straight, Lightning and Dash. You can ignore 1 of them to max out the rest.

Striker’s First Job Advancement

Once you reached level 10, you can proceed to talk to Nineheart about choosing your path. Once thats done, you can meet Hawkeye, The Knight Commander of Lightning (Striker Advancement) on the left of Erev. He is easily noticeable as he wears a pirate hat with a skull symbol. Congratulaions, you are now a Knight in training and a Striker.

Striker’s 1st Job Build

(1) Add 1 Lightning Spirit to have free attacking fairy. (2) Max Somersault Kick to clear mobs of monsters quickly to gain faster EXP. (3) Max Dash to reach monster faster and travel quickly from city to training grounds. Max out Lightning Spirit to upgrade your fairy to kill mobs of monster nearby while you are standing idle on a platform. (4) Max out Quick Motion to gain additional boost from accuracy and avoidability. (6) Straight is ignored as it only allows you to kill 1 monster at a time, which is very slow EXP.

Quick Motion

[Master Level : 10] Increases accuracy and avoidability. This skill is crucial as it provides additional boost to Striker’s low accuracy and avoidability. Furthermore, its important for all Pure STR Striker to max this skill so they spend less meso (money) on accuracy equipments. Also, it does not cost anything as it is passive, it provides constant bonus without having to cast a temporary buff.

Straight

[Master Level : 20] Uses MP to speed up the punch to rapidly attack enemies. Least important skill where users can opt to ignore this to max out the rest of the skill. Most players would not want to kill 1 monster at a time to gain EXP. It’s too slow.

Somersault Kick

[Master Level : 20] A devastating kick that accompanies a backward somersault. Attacks all enemies in the vicinity. A must have skill to allow striker to clear mobs of monster within a map quickly in the early levels, and gain fast EXP to reach 2nd job advancement! Somersault Kick does more damage than Straight when it attack mobs. Somersault Kick does a whopping 190% damage to 6 Monsters (Total: 1140% damage) compare to Straight that deals damage to 1 monster (Total: 270%)

[Master Level : 10] Press left or right arrow twice to temporarily boost your speed and jump. Dash is not important as you can tame a monster at level 50 to gain access a faster mode of transportation, faster than walking. However, you will not enjoy fast traveling for the first 50 levels. Lightning

[Master Level : 20] Summon guardian fairy and attack monsters in the close distance. Very useful in the early levels where it helps you to attack weak monsters to gain some EXP while you are killing other monsters.

Striker Guide


Knight of Cygnus Pirate (Striker 2nd Job Advancement) Skill Build. For Striker’s 2nd Job Advancement, the least important skills are Energy Blast and Lightning Charge. You can ignore 1 of them to max out the rest.

Striker’s 2nd Job Build

(1) Add 1 SP into Corkscrew Blow to allow faster training in movement. (2) Max Improve MaxHP as this allows your character to gain additional max health for every level up. (3) Max Corkscrew Blow as its good skill for collecting monsters in 1 area, great combo with Somersault Kick. (4) Max Knuckle Mastery to prevent damage from dropping below 60%, a consistent damage is better as it gives you a good judge on how much hit to kill a monster. Also Knuckle Mastery makes it easier to hit high avoidability monster on your level. (5) Add 11 SP into Knuckle Booster to improve your attacking speed. (6) Max Energy Charge to provide some additional temporary boost to stats. (7) Max either Energy Blast or Lightning Charge. Its up to you! Some recommend Energy Blast because not many monsters out there are weak to Lightning element.

Knight of Cygnus Pirate (Striker 3rd Job Advancement) Skill Build. For Striker’s 3rd Job Advancement, the least important skill is Speed Infusion, so you can dump a little SP (skill point) into it since every SP only increases the duration.

Striker’s 3rd Job Build

(1) Max Shark Wave for faster leveling. It can clear mobs very quickly. (2) Put 1 SP into Transform for mobility. It provides 40 Speed and 20 Jump, similar to Thief Haste. (3) Max Critical Punch to enhance your damage further. (4) Add 1 Energy Drain so you can absorb enemy health, this is useful when you want to reduce HP potion consumption. (5) Add 11 SP into Spark to deal some damage in between each attack. Take note that Spark consumes some MP after every attack. (6) Max Energy Drain till half. (7) Save SP (skill points) so later on you can add all the skill points into Barrage. Barrage is a skill that can be obtained from Level 100 Quest. Speed Infusion (Wind Booster) can be obtained from Level 110 Quest.

Speed Infusion

[Master Level : 20] Uses HP and MP to temporarily increase the attacking speed of a weapon. This can be combined with other boosters, and everyone in the party will have their attacking speed increased. Required Skill : Level 20 of Knuckle Booster. Wind booster is left at 11 because its useful benefits end here. At level 11 it improves attacking speed by 2 instead of 1 at level 10, and adding it up to level 20 doesn’t help much besides lengthening the time from 210 seconds to 300 seconds, or making it cheaper to cast, which really isn’t very much when your that high a level Wind booster is an important party skill as well as to improve your DPS (Damage Per Second).

Spark

[Master Level : 20] Make additional attack by the power of lightning fairy. Monsters around the monster that is attacked will get damage at the same time. Has a moderate range (150), and naturally possesses lightning element. Basically it means, each time you attack a monster, there will be a chain lightning effect appearing from the monster you attack, which hits monsters around the main victim. For this to happen, you need to cast a temporary buff called Spark to activate this chain lightning effect.

However, after casting spark, subsequent attacks will also drain MP (Mana Points) for spark, as if you cast Spark for each time you attack, whether or not the spark effect is seen as long as spark is still on, so it consumes MP quite a bit and may be a bit expensive. I recommend not adding it at lower levels unless you have the right funds, Although I still think its still worth adding at earlier stages because its really helpful.

Spark gives your skills the chain lightning effect. The 1st Job Summon: orb/fairy/spirit (Lightning) is not necessary at all for Spark, and it doesn’t affect the damage of spark either

For fist its at lvl 100 and for Wind booster its at lvl 110 a bulb will pop up on your head when you reach that lvl, the quest is simple talk to your job advancement Captain Hawkeye and he will ask you to fight a monster at Training hall 3 for lvl 100 Fist , Training hall 4 for Wind booster the monster you might fight is random boss monster. its not really very hard the most you take 10min =p

How do you get Divine Bird and the skill Echo of Hero ?

Question #6 – Black Wizard Location Final Quest

Talk to nineheart in erev. He/She will ask you to find Jade in El Nath.

After talking to her, hunt a Black Scale from either Coolie Zombie / Minor Zombie. Drop rate’s pretty low though, I got mine in 3-4 hours. -_-

After getting the black scale, A lightbulb will appear and it’ll tell you that you have to find Spiruna.

Go talk to Spiruna and she’ll tell you to go look for Chief Tatamo at Leafre.

After finding Chief Tatamo, he’ll ask you to find Nix, which is located at the map between Griffey Forest and Manon Forest.

Nix will then give you a task to kill 1 Manon and 1 Griffey as worthy to continue for save Erev.

After defeating it, he’ll ask you to go to the Black Witch’s cave. The cave is located at Nest Of a Dead Dragon, somewhere at the bottom right.

You’ll see a black crystal ball alike thing in the cave. Click on it and it’ll ask you to go back and talk to Nineheart.

After you talked to Nineheart, he/she will ask you go back to the cave and see if anything have been missed out from the previous time you went there.

Go back to the witch cave again and you’ll see a man being tied up. Click the man and you’ll be in the map to defeat the black witch.

I’m using a Night Walker, contact damage is about 3.4k to me and one of her magic attacks does the same damage to me.

She has Zombify, Darkness and Damage Reflect, since these were the ones that I’ve received. Time limit is 30 minutes. It took me about 15minutes to kill with average equip, so I think it wouldn’t be that hard. The black witch has 9.3m HP.

After defeating the black witch, exit at the left portal of the map and you’ll be brought to Erev, so you might want to get a few seeds before fighting the black witch.

After completing the quest for defeating the black witch, the quest for the Divine Bird mount will be unlocked.

    Lol. Dexless or very low dex striker is useless!!!! Reverse knucles need at least 120 dex!!! u can hav low dex at low lvl.

    Here is the amount of dex i recommend to hav.
    Lvl 50 to 70-50 to 70 dex(no need to have high dex as u can use golden maple knucle)
    Lvl 80 to 90-80 to 90 dex( 80 to wield renot and 90 to wield white vampire)
    Lvl 100 to 120-100 to 120 (120 to wield timeless or reverse knucles)

    Hopes this helps u in maple. If u really want a low or dexless striker, wear golden maple knucle till lvl 120. :)

    The cockscrew blow actually grants the user 2-3 seconds of immunity after the attack….do what she did was CSB than Shark attack than back to CSB to avoid any damage…..i think its a bug, but *Shhhh*

    Okay, lets see if i can answer some of these questions.

    1.) You can choose to Max either Fairy or Straight; more ppl like Fairy because it mobs monsters for you play CPQ. And straight is useless if you have SSK.
    2.) Max Corkscrew because it allows you to travel faster through maps and allows you to jump up platforms if monsters on there.

    Easy Guide to get lvl 70 on Strikers:
    level 1-29: Quests Quests Quests… Do em!
    level 30-50: CPQ, Mush King Quests, Nett Pyramid PQ (lvl 40+)
    level 50-70: CPQ2, Nett Pyramid PQ, STDs(From lvl 50-60), and FoG

    I went from level 1 to 70 in 3 weeks, averaging about 5 hours a day on the computer.

    OK, I have a level 43 Striker with normal dex. His att sucks…… only 100-1500 T.T

    I am planning to make a dexless striker, if not a low dex one.

    For my dexless which i just made a day ago is lvl 17 right now. I put his dex to 30, and i dont plan to increase it. I am going to wear a 12 dex hat and a 9 dex bathing suit, so my dex should end up to about 51 in the end. Letting me wear wpns up to lvl 50 i think. Is this a healthy way to make a low dex character? If I was funded yes, i would obviously make a dexless acc, but since i only have 700k….. I can’t. Is a total of 51 dex a healthy amount of dex for a low dex Striker?

    Note that you use your 3rd job SP to max out your 2nd job skill. (Knuckle Booster)
    It was stated above to leave Speed Infusion at Level 11 because it reaches it max usefulness at that level.
    Adding an extra 9 points will not be needed for anything other than increasing the duration of the skill.
    It is possible although not recommended to add those extra points into Shockwave.
    The reason it’s not recommended is simply because Sharkwave owns Shockwave.
    Sharkwave has better range, animate faster, and doesn’t have a cool down.

    To me the most useless skill is csb cause it takea a long time to charge, deals very little damage even when maxed then ssk cause ssk can hit alot more times. Calculations=
    CSB (420% to 3 monsters total 1260%)
    SSK (190& to 6 monsters and can be done more than once compared to csb total of at least 2280% almost twice as much)
    Another reason: CSB takes too much mana (36) at max while ssk only takes up (32)
    TWICE the damage for less mana!
    why do ppl max csb? pls giv me reasons to understand.
    i will max all others until valid reasons are given with explanations.
    Oh and if u guys are gonna say invincibility with csb, the duration does not lengthen with each level.

    BS !!! if done correctly, strikers can clear 1000 damage at lv 17… with the same brawler, you can barelly reach 500 damage. * A Dexless NW *… history, hits 1000/1500s with lucky sevens at level 30, *shrugs* cpq was nothing.
