Problem: I get a black screen when I launch MapleStory, but I can still hear the background music.
Solution: Launch Setup.exe from Start-> All Programs-> WIZET-> MapleStorySEA

Problem: “Canvas.dll is corrupt” when patching Maplestory. Solution:
1. Uninstall MapleStory (Start-> Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs-> MapleStorySEA-> Remove)
2. Download and install the latest full client

Problem: My monitor displays a message “Frequency out of range“
Solution: Launch Setup.exe from Start-> All Programs-> WIZET-> MapleStorySEA

Problem: “DINPUT8.DLL is missing” error when launching MapleStory
Solution: Install DirectX 9.0c

Problem: “Failed in finding proper screen mode for GR2d” error when launching MapleStory. Solution:
Install your graphic card’s drivers to solve this problem.
If you have your driver utilities disk for your Graphics Card, insert and install it now.
If you know your graphics card brand/model, head over to the respective manufacturer’s websites to download the drivers.

Problem: “igfxsrvc.exe is missing“error when launching MapleStory
Solution: Please re-install your Intel graphics driver

Problem: “Gr2D_Dx81.dll” error when launching MapleStory. Solution:
Install [URL="http://files.maplesea.com/directx_9c.exe"]DirectX 9.0c[/URL]
If problem persists, please install your graphic card’s drivers to solve this problem (refer to “Failed in finding proper screen mode for GR2d”)

Problem: MapleStory’s Graphics Appears Stretched on my widescreen LCD. Solution:
Set your monitor’s scaling to “Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling” for maximizing picture size without stretching or “Centered Output” for a pixel-perfect picture. These settings should be available on your graphics card control panel.

Problem: “Base.wz is corrupt” when patching Maplestory. Solution:
1. Uninstall MapleStory (Start-> Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs-> MapleStorySEA-> Remove)
2. Download and install the latest full client.

Problem: MapleStory closes unexpectedly with a GameGuard message “A possible hacking threat has been detected“
Solution: Malware is classified as a “hacking threat”. Please scan your computer with an up-to-day anti-malware program.

Problem: GameGuard Error 360/380. Solution:
Ensure that you have no firewall (e.g. Windows Firewall) blocking GameGuard.des from accessing its update server.
If problem persists, delete the GameGuard folder in “HDD:/Program Files/WIZET/MapleStory/” and download and install Manual GameGuard update.

Problem: iKernal.exe error when installing Maplestory
Solution: Please log into an administrator account of your machine in order to install MapleStory.

Problem: CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error when installing MapleStory
Solution: Delete corrupted installer and re-download a fresh copy.

Problem: “There’s no data file on your computer” when launching MapleStory
Solution:
1. Uninstall MapleStory (Start-> Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs-> MapleStorySEA-> Remove)
2. Download and install the latest full client.

Question: I cannot install MapleStory on Macintosh/Linux. Answer:
Maplestory is designed for Windows Operating systems only.
There are currently no plans for releasing clients for other os (operating system)
Intel-based Mac users may install Windows XP as a separate operating system with the help of BootCamp by Apple.

Question: Gameguard cannot run on Windows Vista x64
Answer: Microsoft implemented an anti-rootkit technology in-built on it’s x64 Vista versions. Hence, nProtect won’t be able to run.

Question: I downloaded the ‘.BitTorent‘ version of MapleStory, but I can’t install it.
Answer: You need a BitTorrent download client in order to open and download the ‘.torrent’ file
