Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Forest of Evil II and it’ll bring you to “The Path of the Glittering Crystal”. Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman’s dark side to obtain the Black Charm. Return to “Grendel the Really Old” and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Robeira. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Robeira in El Nath and give her the Necklace of Wisdom.

How to read this skill build? 16 – 18 means Level 16, 17 and 18 [Level 16 to 18]. For 20 – 20, it means only Level 20. The guide below is purely a personal recommendation and need not be followed. Each skill listed below has advices/tips shared by senior players to guide you in building your character!

Pearl of Knowledge:
Priest have additional supportive skills to support their party members such as Dispel (remove negative buff), Mystic Door (teleports party members, consumes 1 magic rock), and Holy Symbol (grants additional EXP rate). Priest have Doom that can morph an enemy into snail, but it consumes 1 magic rock. Priest is also able to summon dragon to assist them in battles but consumes 1 summoning rock. Both magic and summoning rock can be purchased from Alcaster for 5000 meso.

Below is the hierarchy order of Pirate advancement: [Magician Main Page]
Pirate -> Gunslinger -> Vaklyrie (Outlaw) -> Captain (Corsair)
Pirate -> Infighter (Brawler) -> Buccaneer (Marauder) -> Viper (Buccaneer)

Summary – Total 151 SP
Shining Ray 30 [MAX] / Holy Symbol 30 [MAX] / Dispel 20 [MAX] / Elemental Resistance 20 [MAX]
Mystic Door [1/20] / Summon Dragon [30/30] / Doom [20/30]
Reasons for this Build
Doom does not need to be max because it does not provide 100% success rate at max level, its expensive [consumes 1 magic rock] and won’t be used for daily training purpose. Level 20 Doom is sufficient for hunting drops. Level 1 Mystic Door is sufficient for some players and its best for those who does not lag once they enter the door or else they might not have enough time to return back to their Mystic Door after doing their chores in nearest Town [NPC-ing drops, buy potions]

114 – 114 : Summon Dragon 1 [MAX], Mystic Door 2
115 – 119 : Mystic Door 3
120 – 120 : Mystic Door 2 [MAX], Free 1 SP
Summary – Total 151 SP [Free 1 SP]
Shining Ray 30 [MAX] / Holy Symbol 30 [MAX] / Dispel 20 [MAX] / Elemental Resistance 20 [MAX]
Mystic Door 20 [MAX] / Summon Dragon 30 [MAX] / Doom [0/30]
Reasons for this Build
Some priests do not wish to add Doom because doom is rarely used and its expensive. The extra SP is channeled into Mystic Door, maxing it to increase its duration. This provides them ample time to visit nearest town [NPC-ing drops, buy potions] and return to their training spot without rushing. Spending 1 SP into Doom is not worth as it consumes 1 magic rock and lasts a few seconds.

Summary – Total 151 SP
Shining Ray 30 [MAX] / Holy Symbol 30 [MAX] / Dispel 20 [MAX] / Elemental Resistance 20 [MAX]
Mystic Door [16/20] / Summon Dragon [15/30] / Doom [20/30]
Reasons for this Build
Bahamut (4th Job Skill) requires a minimum of 15 SP in Summon Dragon. Unlike Summon Dragon, Bahamut attacks 3 mobs simultaneously with Holy element, and does not require summoning rocks. It deals more damage than Summon Dragon, however it has a slightly smaller attacking range. The remaining SP that is not used to max Summon Dragon is channeled into Mystic Door and Doom. Level 20 Doom has a 80% success rate and Level 16 Mystic Door provides 156 seconds duration, sufficient for town chores.

elemental-resistanceElemental Resistance [ER]
Gains a higher tolerance for all element-based spell attacks from the enemy. The magic version of invincible. Element resistance or ER reduces all elemental magic attacks to 50% at its max lvl. Elemental magic attacks include fire, ice, lightning, and poison attack. For example, the poison damage from Coolie or Cave of Trial is reduced by ER from -30HP per sec to -15HP per second. This skill enables you to train areas with magical attack monsters without activating Magic Guard. So you spam less MP Potions! A great meso saving skill. In short, Elemental Resistance significantly reduces magic damage if they are at training at dangerous training spots or participating in Boss Batles [Zakum, Horned Tail, Pink Been Time Temple]

dispelDispel
Cancels out all spell effects of the enemies within a certain area, along with curing everyone in the party of all sicknesses. At max level, one cast of dispel will definitely remove all the curses. It also has very large range. Dispel is very useful at boss mobs which can inflict curses [zakum, papulatus]. Dispel is proven to be useful against Leafre monsters that can inflict curse when provoked, including previous mobs which can curse such as thanatos, shark, and jr.boogie.

Dispel does NOT work on:
Super WDEF and MDEF up: e.g. bone fish, goby house, pianus, zakum
Stun: e.g. stun from gatekeeper, geyser at coolie maps, zakum, manon and griffey

mystic-doorMystic Door
Creates a 2-way portal that heads to the nearest town and return to the area where Mystic Door is being cast. You and party members can use it multiple time until the portal disappears. Stand at Mystic Door location and Press UP to use the portal. Saves town scrolls and the time walking back to the training spot if its far away from the town. Each Mystic Door consumes 1 Magic Rock which can be purchased from Alcaster at El Nath for 5000 meso. Mystic Door is similar to Ressurection as it brings the dead party member back from town and resurrection does not prevent EXP loss upon death. It is crucial to cast your Mystic Door at a safe platform else your party member might die again upon bumping into high level monster. A party member might not have activated their HyperBody/Magic Guard/Power Guard or a dead party member did not replenish their HP in hope that they could get heal from you.

Extra Information about Mystic Door
Mystic Door can NOT be used at free market, Orbis-elinia ship, Orbis-ludibrium train, parlour (where anego spawns), zakum altar, and maybe some other places that I haven’t discovered.

holy-symbolHoly Symbol
For a certain amount of time, everyone in the party can gain more EXP while hunting monsters. It only works 100% when the party is bigger than 2. Holy symbol [also known as HS] is the main reason players are fond of partying priests.Holy Symbol gives us and our party more EXP gain. HS works 100% as long as we have party, that is to say, max HS gives 150% exp even if the party only consists of 2. Max HS only gives 110% exp when the priest solo. Example: 2 person party = 150% experience from Max Holy Symbol + 10% party bonus on top of everything.

Holy Symbol Delay Tips
There is a delay time after casting HS. It disables you from casting most skills except Teleport.

- Cast Holy Symbol on a rope/ladder to eliminate delay time.
- Consume HP Potion when you are hit during the delay.
- Teleport away from mobs [up to 3 times within delay period]
- Cast Magic Guard before Holy Symbol because Invincible/Hyperbody buff might deactivate.

shining-rayShining Ray
Attacks multiple enemies at once with the ray of holy light. Applies massive damage to the undead monsters. Shining Ray deals 1.5x damage against holy weak mobs [6 monsters] and damage is not split nor doesn’t decrease for each mob unlike Heal. Heal attacks 5 undead mobs while healing your HP and damage varies depending on amount of undead mobs affected. Shining Ray has a slow casting speed and smaller attacking range compare to Explosion and Ice Strike [F/P and I/L AOE Skills]. Shining Ray is much more efficient compare to spamming Heal while training on undeads. Its best to use Shining Ray and Heal with Magic Guard disabled to save MP Potions. Shining Ray has smaller uper vertical attacking range but bigger at lower vertical range.

Shining Ray Holy Element 1.5x does NOT apply to:
Chronos family, paper lantern ghosts, mr anchor, and selkie jr

doomDoom
Turns multiple monsters into snails at once. Speed, attacking ability, and the looks all change. Does not work on boss monsters, and can only change up to 6 monsters at once. Doom changes multiple monsters into blue snails with a certain success rate, depending on your doom level. The success rate is based on individual monster within the mob. If you are around more than 6 monsters, the “first” 6 monsters are the ones affected by doom. “First” in this case means the oldest monsters spawned in the map. [Credit: Necat] Doom can be cast while you are hanging on rope/ladder.

summon-dragonSummon Dragon
- Summons a holy dragon for a certain amount of time.
- The dragon will stay beside you and attack the enemies in the process.
- The higher the skill level, the stronger the summoned dragon is.
- Its best to use a max summon dragon to help you kill monster faster.
- The damage from max summon dragon is similar to max Shining Ray [against Holy weak mobs]
- The summon dragon automatically attacks nearby monsters one at a time in every 3-4 seconds.
- It won’t attack mobs when you are hanging on a rope or ladder.
- Summon dragon does NOT have Holy elemental attack against holy weak mobs.
- It might provoke monsters that we do not wish to fight against with.
- Summon dragon will be replaced with bahamut, a stronger dragon in 4th job.
- Thus, we have the option to just leave it at lvl 15, the pre-requisite to unlock bahamut.

    75:Dispel (6/20)
    76:Dispel (9/20)
    77:Dispel (12/20)
    78:Dispel (15/20)
    79:Dispel (18/20)
    80:Dispel (20/20) MAX
    Holy Symbol (1/30)
    81:Holy Symbol (4/30)

    91:Elemental Resistance (3/20)
    92:Elemental Resistance (6/20)
    93:Elemental Resistance (9/20)
    94:Elemental Resistance (12/20)

    102:Shining Ray (25/30)
    103:Shining Ray (28/30)
    104:Shining Ray (30/30) MAX
    Summon Dragon (1/30)

    Shining Ray:MAX
    Dispel:MAX
    Holy Symbol:Max
    Summon Dragon:MAX
    Mystic Door:MAX
    Elemental Resistance:MAX
    Doom:1

Overall, i think dispel is a must for pqing, and getting 10 shining ray in the begging is because you might not always get in a pq or be able to party,so you’ll need a skill that does’nt affect just undead and zombie type monsters. Elemental resistance unfortunately gets ushed back because you’ll have heal and Holy Symbol comes before that. Rate and comment. Xd Happy Mapling

    Celine :

Can anyone help me choose a skill build? I find Doom useless too, so I think I’ll either do Max Mystic Door or the Lvl 15 Summon Dragon one. Which one is the best, strongest skill build for a Priest? Help me, and thanks for the Guide. It was helpful! :)

Doom isn’t useless sometimes, so I’m not sure either…

Hello, can Dragon and Bahamut attack together in one battle at same monsters?
CAN Dragon AND Bahamut are TOGETHER attack monsters???

  17. 11/10/2009 at 6:46 am

Door will be much more useful compare to doom, it can be used to travel to the nearest town and back to your training ground.

both door and doom consumes the special rock.

  18. 11/10/2009 at 6:39 am

not necessarily, if you could sacrifice a skill for mystic door, then go ahead and add SP in mystic door.
you won’t be using much mystic door unless you plan to use it to move party from nearest town to the training map.
