Useful Link: View all MapleStory 3rd job questions and answers here.

Requirement: Level 70
Go to El Nath – Chief Residence and speak to Arec. After talking to Arec, head back to Victoria Island and talk to Dark Lord which is located in Kerning City. Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Monkey Swamp II and it’ll bring you to “The Path of the Glittering Crystal”. Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman’s dark side to obtain the Black Charm. Return to Dark Lord and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Arec. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Arec in El Nath and give him the Necklace of Wisdom.

How to read this skill build? 16 – 18 means Level 16, 17 and 18 [Level 16 to 18]. For 20 – 20, it means only Level 20. The guide below is purely a personal recommendation and need not be followed. Each skill listed below has advices/tips shared by senior players to guide you in building your character!

Pearl of Knowledge:
Hermits in 3rd Job have a few pretty cool skills such as Flash Jump (the fastest moving skill among all jobs), Shadow Partner that makes you attack twice, and Avenger (mob skill) that can go through any obstacles! Now the hermit class can have some fun jumping around within the map! However, using Shadow Partner is quite costly since it requires Summoning Rock to activate this skill. This is compensated with Meso UP and Alchemist that saves your HP and MP potion and helps you to earn more meso.

Below is the hierarchy order of Pirate advancement: [Thief Main Page]
Pirate -> Gunslinger -> Vaklyrie (Outlaw) -> Captain (Corsair)
Pirate -> Infighter (Brawler) -> Buccaneer (Marauder) -> Viper (Buccaneer)

Hermit Skill Build
Recommended for training at places where you kill each monster one by one.

70 – 70 : Shadow Partner 1
71 – 79 : Shadow Partner 3
80 – 80 : Shadow Partner 2, Avenger 1
81 – 81 : Avenger 3
82 – 82 : Avenger 1, Flash Jump 2
83 – 86 : Flash Jump 3 (Flash Jump Level 14 – Can clear Viking Gap Both Ways)
87 – 89 : Alchemist 3
90 – 90 : Alchemist 2, Avenger 1 (Alchemist Level 11 – Unagis are powerful)
91 – 95 : Avenger 3 (Avenger Level 21 – 6 hit Avenger!)
96 – 97 : Flash Jump 3
098 – 100 : Avenger 3
101 – 103 : Alchemist 3
104 – 109 : Meso UP 3
110 – 110 : Meso UP 2, Free 1 SP
111 – 120 : 31 Free SP [You can add into Shadow Meso or Shadow Web]
Summary – Total 151 SP [Free 31 SP]
Shadow Partner 30 [MAX] / Alchemist 20 [MAX] / Meso UP 20 [MAX] / Avenger 30 [MAX]
Flash Jump 20 [MAX] / Shadow Meso [0/30] / Shadow Web [0/20]
Reasons for this Build
Shadow Partner (also known as CopyCat) is added first to boost your primary skill (Lucky 7) damage by throwing the star twice! 5 SP (skill points) is added into Avenger to activate Flash Jump. Flash Jump is pumped until master level 14 so you could train effectively in Viking. Alchemist is added to enhance potion effectiveness, so you can bring in lesser pots (saves meso) and hold more throwing stars. Avenger is later maxed to be able to do mobbing (mob training or farming meso on low level monsters). Alchemist is added first than Meso UP because alchemist saves meso on the spot (while using potion and before) while Meso UP is only good if you pick up (loot) the meso on the floor. 31 Free SP can be allocated either into Shadow Meso or Shadow Web (its your choice!)
